JUDGEMENT

(1.) In this petition, petitioners who are English teachers fro the Industrial Training Institute, are seeking a writ in the nature of Mandamus, directing the respondents to release the pay scale of Rs. 620-1200/- with a starting salary of Rs. 660/- per month w.ei. 1.1.1978 as provided to the Masters/Mistresses of the Education Department of the Punjab State.

(2.) In brief, the facts as set out in the petition are that petitioner No. 1 retired as English teacher from the Industrial Training Institute, whereas petitioners No. 2 and 3 are still in employment.

(3.) As regards petitioner No. 4, I find that in the writ petition, there is no averment as to whether he is in employment or has since retired. No relief has also been claimed on his behalf in the writ petition and, therefore, the writ petition, as far as respondent No. 4 is concerned shall stand dismissed. Where-ever the word "Petitioners" occurs, it shall be confined only to petitioners No. 1 to 3.
