JUDGEMENT

- (1.) In this petition, the petitioner has questioned the validity of the order dated 1.8.2012 (Annexure P-9) by which services of the petitioner has been discharged.
(2.) Petitioner's father Jaswinder Paul Singh was working as Development Officer in the office of the respondents-LIC of India. While he was in service, he died on 10.3.2011. In the month of December, 2011, petitioner's mother submitted a representation seeking for compassionate appointment to her daughter, in accordance with the policy of the Corporation relating to appointment on compassionate ground. Pursuant to the application/ representation, the petitioner was called for interview on 16.1.2012. Name of the petitioner was recommended and she was appointed on 10.2.2012 as an Assistant in the pay scale of Rs. 7640-21050/-. The respondents discharged the petitioner from service under Regulation 14 (4) of LIC of India (Staff) Regulation, 1960 read with clause 4 of the appointment letter dated 10.2.2012 (Annexure P-9). The petitioner feeling aggrieved by the order of discharge presented the petition.
(3.) Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that order of discharge dated 1.8.2012 has been issued without assigning any reason and without notice. Order of discharge is nothing but removal from service. The minimum requirement is at least to have a notice before issuing order of discharge dated 1.8.2012 is not complied.;
