JUDGEMENT
J.S.Khehar, J. -
(1.) The petitioner asserts that he was selected for NSG course at
Manesar, which he attended from December 19, 1985 to March 1986.
The solitary grievance of the petitioner is that no entry has been
recorded in his service book for having attended the aforesaid course. This
grievance of the petitioner emerges on account of the fact that certain
rights would accrue to him if the aforesaid entry is made in his service
book to the effect that he qualified the aforesaid course successfully
as far back as in March 1996.
(2.) Learned counsel for the petitioner states that on the issue
noticed above, the petitioner addressed a representation followed by
a legal notice dated 8.8.2005 (Annexure P4). It is, however, pointed out
that no decision has been taken either on the representation or the
legal notice. In fact, the counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner
will be satisfied if the instant writ petition is disposed of by requiring
respondent No.2 i.e. the Director General of Police, Haryana, to take
a final decision on the legal notice dated 8.8.2005 (Annexure P4).
(3.) In view of the above, without going into the merits of the
claim raised by the petitioner, we consider it just and appropriate to
dispose of the instant writ petition by directing respondent No.2 i.e.
the Director General of Police, Haryana, to take a final decision on the
legal notice dated 8.8.2005(Annexure P4)., by passing a well reasoned
speaking order within three months from the date of receipt of a
certified copy of this order. In case the petitioner is found entitled to any
monetary benefits, the same shall be limited to a period of three years and two
months before the filing of the instant writ petition. It is further clarified
that the instant writ petition was filed on 21.3.2006.
Disposed of accordingly.;
