JUDGEMENT

- (1.) Concisely, the facts and material, culminating in the commencement, relevant for disposal of the instant petition and emanating from the record is that, initially in the wake of complaint of complainantSatvir Singh son of Prem Singh, respondent No.2 (for brevity "the complainant"), a criminal case was registered against the petitionersaccused Sarabjit Singh and another, vide FIR No.273 dated 10.12.2011 (Annexure P-1), on accusation of having committed the offences punishable under Sections 420 and 120-B IPC, by the police of Police Station Focal Point, District Ludhiana.
(2.) During the course of investigation of the criminal case, good sense prevailed and the parties have amicably settled their disputes, by means of compromise-deed dated 15.05.2012(Annexure P-3).

Having compromised the matter, now the petitioners-accused have preferred the present petition, to quash the impugned FIR(Annexure P- 1) and all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise, invoking the provisions of Section 482 Cr.P.C., inter alia, pleading that with the intervention of respectables from both the sides, it was resolved that the petitioners will execute and register the sale-deed of the plot in question in favour of the complainant. It was also agreed that the petitioners would not raise any objection at the time of sanction of mutation of the plot in dispute in favour of the complainant. They have redressed their grievances. Now they have no grudge against each other. The complainant has no objection if the present criminal case registered against the petitioners-accused vide impugned FIR(Annexure P-1) is quashed. On the strength of aforesaid grounds, the petitioners-accused sought to quash the impugned FIR(Annexure P-1) and all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, in the manner depicted hereinabove.;
