JUDGEMENT

The epitome of the facts and material, culminating in the commencement, relevant for disposal of the instant petition and emanating from the record is that, initially in the wake of complaint of complainant-Tarandeep Singh son of Harjinder Singh, respondent No.2 (for brevity "the complainant"), a criminal case was registered against the petitioners-accused Jatin Chhabra and others, by means of FIR No.402 dated 14.08.2012(Annexure P-1), on accusation of having committed the offences punishable under Sections 323, 506, 147 and 148 IPC, by the police of Police Station Sector 34, Chandigarh.
(2.) During the course of investigation of the criminal case, good sense prevailed and the parties have amicably settled their disputes, by way of compromise-deed dated 31.08.2012(Annexure P-2).

Having compromised the matter, now the petitionersaccused have directed the present petition, to quash the impugned FIR and all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, invoking the provisions of Section 482 Cr.P.C., inter alia, pleading that the elders and respectable members of both the families sat together and in order to bring peace and harmony, the matter has been settled/compromised between them. All the misunderstandings between them have been removed and now they undertake to maintain cordial relations in future. The complainant does not want to prosecute the petitioners and he has no objection if the present criminal case registered against the petitionersaccused vide impugned FIR(Annexure P-1) is quashed on the basis of compromise. It was claimed that the compromise is in their benefit and for the welfare of both the parties. On the strength of aforesaid grounds, the petitioners-accused sought to quash the impugned FIR(Annexure P- 1) and all other subsequent proceedings arising therefrom, in the manner depicted hereinabove.;
