JUDGEMENT

(1.) The brief facts of the case are that the petitioner, Joginder Pal Arora, was tried for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, on the basis of a complaint filed by respondent No. 2, Paramjit Kaur. After trial, the petitioner was convicted for the offence punishable under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year, besides payment of compensation of Rs. 3,90,000/- (equal to the cheque amount) to respondent No. 2-complainant, Paramjit Kaur, vide judgment and order of sentence, dated 30.11.2010.
(2.) Aggrieved by the verdict of guilt, the petitioner preferred an appeal before the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Chandigarh. The said appeal was also dismissed, hence, the present criminal revision challenging the judgments of two Courts below.
(3.) During the pendency of the criminal revision petition, better sense prevailed and both the parties effected a compromise. The compromise deed (Annexure P-6) has been placed on record, which contains the terms and conditions of the compromise.;
