Ranjan Gogoi, C.J. - (1.) THIS writ petition has been filed seeking directions from the Court to shift the rice shellers operated by the Respondents No. 4 and 5 from the present location on the ground that the same are located within the residential colony.

THOUGH , no reply has been filed by the Punjab Pollution Control Board in the case, Shri Patwalia, learned Counsel for the Board has submitted that during the pendency of the writ petition the consent granted to the Respondent's Units under the provisions of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981 has been revoked and show cause notices have been issued to the Respondents asking them to show cause as to why the units should not be closed. Shri Patwalia has further submitted that the Respondents have been heard and final orders in the matter are likely to be passed in the next few days. Further action in the matter will depend on such orders as may be passed by the Pollution Control Board. As, such an order is in the offing and it has been stated that the same will be issued in the next few days we do not consider it necessary to keep this writ petition pending. Instead, we dispose of the same with the direction that further action in the matter will be taken on the basis of such orders as may be passed by the Punjab Pollution Control Board. In the event any of the parties before us are aggrieved by the said orders it will be open for them to avail of such remedies as may be available to them. We, therefore, close this writ petition in terms of the above order with the direction to the Punjab Pollution Control Board to pass final orders in the matters within two weeks from today.
(3.) THIS will dispose of the writ petition.;
