Ramalingam Sudhakar,J. - (1.) Heard Mr. Ch. Robinchandra, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr. Athouba, learned G.A. appearing for the respondents.

Prayer in the writ petition reads as follows : "(ii) Issue writ of mandamus and/or any orhder appropriate writ/order/direction to the respondents directing them to make confirmation of the work-charged service of the petitioner's husband in accordance with the O.M. dated 22.01.2001 (Annexure - A/1) for consideration of the petitioner's entitlement of retirement benefits for the death of her husband employee under the Terminal Benefits Rules, 1978."
(3.) Present writ petitioner is the wife/widow of late L. Ibotombi Singh, Ex-Work-Charged Khalasi of I.F.C. Department, Government of Manipur. Her husband was initially appointed to the post of Khalasi on Work-Charged basis vide office order even No. 209 dated 28.12.1989. On his appointment he was posted at Thoubal Project Division - I. But, unfortunately, he died on 18.01.2007 while in service. During his life time he had rendered 17 years, 17 days service continuously without any break till he died on 18.01.2007.;
