(2.) Heard Mr. Sanyal, learned advocate for the petitioner and Mr. Sengupta, learned senior counsel appearing for the respondent nos. 1 to 4.
(3.) The petitioner was initially appointed as the Secretary of West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (Commission, for short) for a period of six months. The letter of appointment further recorded that after the expiry of six months, based on satisfactory performance, further extension of the period of engagement will be considered for a period of minimum one year and maximum three years with a provision of subsequent extension upto the age of 65 years on the terms and conditions mentioned therein.;
