JUDGEMENT
N. Sengupta, J. -
(1.) The applicant has asked for a direction to the respondents to give him the same benefit of scale of pay and consequential reliefs as was given to one M.R. Krishna Rao by the Hyderabad Bench of this Tribunal by its judgment dated 12.10.1987 in T.A. 1136/86 of that Bench.
(2.) The applicant's case, put in brief, is that he was appointed as Maintenance Linesman and Wireman on 15.2.68 in the Central Training Institute, which has subsequently been named as Advance Training Institute, Calcutta, Dashnagar, Howrah. From that grade, he was promoted as Electrician on 01.06.72 in the scale of pay of Rs. 150 -280/ - and then to the post of Maintenance Electrician in the scale of pay of Rs. 250 -550/ - with effect from 20.12.76. This scale of pay was really prevalent prior to 1.1.73 i.e. coming into force of the scales of pay recommended by the Third Pay Commission, which was revised to Rs. 440 -770/ - with selection grade of Rs. 770 -880/ -. On 11.10.85, the applicant was promoted to the selection grade of Rs. 770 -880/ - which after the recommendation, of the Fourth Central Pay Commission was revised to Rs. 1640 -2900/ -.
(3.) The applicant has stated that a similar centre for training is there at Hyderabad.;
