ANIRUDDHA BOSE, J. - (1.) The writ petitioner at present is working as a Home Guard attached to Burwan Police Station in the district of Murshidabad.
(2.) It appears that his date of birth recorded in the Service Book is 28th January, 1952. The case of the petitioner is that his actual date of birth is 2nd May, 1956. If his recorded date of birth is taken to be authentic, then the petitioner is to superannuate this month only. In support of his case, the petitioner has relied on an Admit Card issued by the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, a copy of which has been made annexure "P2" to the writ petition. In this Admit Card, his date of birth is reflected as 2nd May, 1956.
(3.) It appears that there was earlier a general administrative circular for verification of date of birth of various home guard personnel of the district issued on 8th May, 2007 but the petitioner's case, though stipulated for verification, does not appear to have been done.;
