Sunita Agarwal, J. - (1.) Heard Sri Alok Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel.
(2.) The petitioners (six in number) filed the present writ petition challenging the recommendation of the Selection Committee dated 30.12.2017 approved by respondent no. 3 as also the selection of the respondent no. 5 for promotion to the post of Junior Assistant in Group-D on the basis thereof.
(3.) The petitioners are working on the post of Peon in the Nazarat Office, Collectorate, District Sant Kabir Nagar. They have participated in the selection process for promotion to Group-C post from amongst the employees working in Group-D post in the office concerned. As per the the relevant rules, 20% of the Group-C posts are to be filled up by way of promotion of Group-D employees. Admittedly, the petitioners had participated in the selection process which comprised of the written examination and type test.;
