JUDGEMENT

- (1.) Heard learned Counsel for the parties and perused the papers on record.
(2.) It appears that applicant Venkateswar Rao Divakaruni @ Beni was convicted for the offences under Section 420 and 406 IPC by the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Almora vide order dated 30.10.2012. For the offence of Section 420 IPC, he was sentenced to undergo five years' rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 25,000/-, while for the offence of Section 406 IPC, he was directed to undergo two years' rigorous imprisonment and to deposit fine of Rs. 25,000/-. Thus, a total of Rs. 50,000/- was imposed as fine.
(3.) Applicant convict preferred an appeal against his conviction and sentence before the Sessions Judge, Almora. He was granted bail on 6.11.2012. Ten days' time was granted to him to deposit the aforesaid amount of fine.;
