JUDGEMENT

- (1.) Upon motion the matter is taken on board. This appeal under Section 19 of the Contempt of courts Act, 1971, be registered.
(2.) We have heard Shri PALLAV SHISHODIA , learned counsel for the appellant. Learned counsel says that apart altogether from the merits of the matter, the order is an appealable one and that the least the court owed to its own sense of fairness and justice, to suspend the sentence for a reasonable time to enable the appellant to approach the higher court. He said that the matter was not a case of contempt in the face of the court and that the contemner-appellant was ordered to be taken straight from court to the jail.
(3.) Issue notice. Interim suspension of the order of conviction and sentence. The appellant shall be released from custody forthwith. All consequential administrative orders pursuant to the conviction and sentence shall also be stayed.;
