JUDGEMENT

(1.) Mr. G. L. Sanghi, learned Counsel appearing for the present Speaker of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, has tendered a letter written on behalf of the said Speaker to the Advocate-on-record for the State of Andhra Pradesh. (A copy of that letter is taken on record). The purport of the letter is that die alleged contemns of the Legislative Assembly will not now be required to serve any part of their remaining sentences.
(2.) Learned Counsel appearing for the Speaker of the Assembly at the relevant time (Mr. G. Narayan Rao) has written a letter to Counsel which he tenders. (A copy of that letter is taken on record). That letter states that Mr. Narayan Rao is in the United States of America and is unable to attend the hearing today. He asks his Counsel to tender to the Court on unconditional apology. That unconditional apology is tendered by his Counsel in open Court, It relates to certain remarks made by Mr. Narayan Rao in his capacity as Speaker in a ruling on 14th September, 1989 and elsewhere in relation to this Court. The police officers involved in the incident respondent Nos. 2 to 5, have also tendered unconditional apologies to this Court.
(3.) The apologies, aforementioned, are accepted.;
