(1.) A letter dated 13.12.2011 sent by Puran Singh has been treated as a letter petition by this court. Vide order dated 02.01.2012, this court had appointed Mr. Manish Tak as an amicus curiae.
(2.) Mr. Manish Tak submits that the petitioner was convicted for offences under Sections 307, 324, 323, 341, 427 IPC and was sentenced to ten years of rigorous imprisonment along with other sentences. Out of a total sentence of ten years, the petitioner has already completed five years and one month. He was already granted the first parole from 28.06.2010 to 17.07.2010.
(3.) Moreover, the petitioner is eligible for being granted the second parole for thirty days. His case has been rejected by the District Parole Committee vide order dated 17.11.2011. Therefore, the petitioner deserves to be granted his second parole.
