JUDGEMENT

(1.) Petitioner seeks grant of benefit of higher pay scale in terms of SRO 225, dated 04.07.1997 with effect from the date, the same was given to his junior Sansar Chand.

(2.) Briefly stated, the case of the petitioner is that one Sansar Chand, Junior Assistant was placed on a higher pay scale of Rs. 5000-8000, whereas the petitioner, who despite being senior to him was placed in the pay scale of Rs. 4000-6000.

(3.) It is urged that the date of appointment of Sansar Chand is 28.01.1967, whereas the date of appointment of the petitioner is. 18.01.1967 and that being senior to Sansar Chand, the petitioner was illegally denied the benefit of the higher pay scale.
