JUDGEMENT

Michael Zothankhuma, J. - (1.) Heard Mr. T. Lalnunsiama, learned counsel for the appellant. Also heard Mr. A.K. Rokhum, learned Public Prosecutor.
(2.) The appellant has filed this appeal against the Judgment & Order dated 17.10.2017 passed by the Court of the Addl. Sessions Judge, Champhai in Sessions Case No. 179/2015, by which the appellant has been convicted under Part-II of Section 304 IPC and sentenced to undergo S.I for a period of 9 years with a fine of Rs. 8000/-, i.d. S.I. for 2 months, vide Sentence Order dated 18.10.2017.
(3.) The prosecution story of the case in brief is that on 04.06.2015 at around 10:05 AM, information was received by the Champhai Police Station that a dead body of an unidentified woman was found near the farm house of a paddy field belonging to one Mr. S. Lalruma (L). A police team rushed to the site and on enquiry found that the deceased person was Mrs. Khuangthanmawii, W/o Agnu Sahu, a BRTF labourer residing near the farm house.;
