JUDGEMENT

G.N.Bajpai, - (1.) WHEREAS Vijay Kumar Patni (hereinafter referred to as 'the member"), a stock broker registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (hereinafter referred to as "SEBI") and a member of the Calcutta Stock Exchange violated provisions of SEBI (Stock brokers and sub brokers) Rules, 1992, SEBI (Stock Brokers and Sub brokers) Regulations, 1992 and the Securities Contract (Regulation) Act, 1956 and Securities Contract (Regulation) Rules, 1957 and WHEREAS in the interest of the securities market and in exercise of powers conferred on me under sub-section (3) of Section 4 of the SEBI Act, 1992 read with sub-regulation (4) of regulation 13 of the SEBI(Procedure for holding enquiry by enquiry officer and imposing penalty) Regulations, 2002, I had vide order dated 12.8.2003 (hereinafter referred to as the "said order") suspended the certificate of registration bearing number INB031078216 granted to the said member for a period of 4 months and WHEREAS the address of the said member was mentioned in the said order as 506, Vaishno Chambers, 6, Brabourne Road, Kolkatta - 700 001 and WHEREAS it has been brought to my notice that the correct address of the said member is at 42-B, Park Street, Kolkata 700 016 and WHEREAS this is a factual and clerical error which can be corrected without reviewing the said order and I am of the considered view that correcting such clerical mistakes are within the powers conferred on me under Section 4 (3) of the SEBI Act and that the same can be done ex-parte, I, hereby, direct that the address of the said member in the said order may be read as 42-B, Park Street, Kolkata 700 016 and the said order shall stand modified accordingly.;
