JUDGEMENT

D.V.S.S.Somayajulu, J. - (1.)This writ petition is filed by the set of petitioners seeking a relief in the nature of writ of Mandamus declaring the inaction of the respondents in not granting new electricity connections to the houses of the petitioners.
(2.)This Court has heard Sri D.Seshasayana Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri N.Siva Reddy, learned standing counsel for the respondents.
(3.)The petitioners claim to be residents of Thiruchanuru Village, Tirupathi Mandal, Chittoor District. They claim to have acquired land through a gift of two cents each in favour of each of the petitioners, 20 of them, who claim title in a similar manner, have joined in filing this writ petition. The petitioners states that they have raised structures which are covered by temporary metal sheets etc., and are residing in the same. They further submit that the neighbours have got electric connection, but the respondents have not been giving the connections to them. They rely upon the applications filed by them and pray that the respondents should be directed to grant and give new electricity connection.
