JUDGEMENT

BISWANATH SOMADDER,J. - (1.) The Meghalaya Commercial Truck Owners and Operators Association and its President have filed the instant writ petition essentially challenging the Meghalaya State Policy for Weighbridges, 2018, which came into effect in terms of a notification dated 1st November, 2018, as also the subsequent notification dated 30th November, 2018, whereby the concerned respondents notified check points and weighbridge-cum-check points in order to ensure integrated enforcement of rules and regulations and in order to avoid single checking by different departments at multiple locations.
(2.) It is evident that the notification dated 1st November, 2018, as well as the subsequent notification dated 30th November, 2018, have been issued pursuant to the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court dated 6th November, 2015, passed in Special Leave to Appeal (C) No(s).17901- 17902/2012. For convenience, the said order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court dated 6th November, 2015, is reproduced hereinbelow:-
