JUDGEMENT

(1.) The appellant is the sole accused in S.C.No.1590/2011 on the file of the Principal City Civil and Sessions Judge, Bengaluru, in which, by judgment dated 01.09.2017, he was found guilty and convicted for the offences punishable under Sections 302 and 393 of Penal Code and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life with fine of Rs.10,000.00 for the offence punishable under Sec. 302 of IPC, in default, to undergo simple imprisonment for six months; and he was further sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for five years with fine of Rs.10,000.00 for the offence punishable under Sec. 393 of IPC, in default, to undergo simple imprisonment for six months.

(2.) Heard Sri R. Srinivasa Gowda, learned counsel for the appellant and Sri Vijayakumar Majage, learned Additional State Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent-State and perused the records.
